👉 A 49-year-old patient with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) without bulbar involvement presented with pneumonia and hypercapnic respiratory failure.
👉 Non-invasive ventilation (NIV) was initiated using a portable ventilator and an oronasal mask. The following mechanical ventilation (MV) curves are presented below, along with a corresponding video.
👉 The ventilator is set to BiPAP S/T mode, with a trigger sensitivity of 3 L/min and cycling set at 33% of peak flow.
