📺 This new thematic session highlights an excellent video lecture by Dr. Zachary Fulkerson, PhD, from the Indiana University School of Medicine, available on the American Thoracic Society YouTube channel.
👉 In a very clear and didactic way, he presents the principles of capnography based on the understanding of cardiorespiratory and metabolic physiology.
👉 The video also includes examples of capnography waveforms typically associated with clinical conditions commonly seen in ICU patients, such as metabolic and ventilatory disturbances, airflow obstruction, circuit leaks, and the effects of chest compressions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation, among others.
👉 The video is 9 and a half minutes long and represents an accessible and high-quality learning resource on the topic.
👉 Have you been using capnography during ventilatory support?
😉 Have you tried the capnograph implemented in the Xlung simulator?
Note: Available only on laptop or desktop devices.
