Prof. Marcelo Alcantara Holanda demonstrates the new function: PEEP effect. In a simulation of a patient with severe ARDS, the activation of the PEEP effect in the patient allows the simulation of the impact of raising the PEEP in the oxygenation parameters: PaO2, SaO2, and PaO2/FIO2 ratio. This feature now makes the simulation of MV of patients with severe hypoxemia to be more realistic.
